Usage examples

Removing location data before posting online

Photos from smartphones often carry the exact GPS location where they were taken. Stripping the metadata before sharing online keeps your location private.

Clearing device info from a marketplace photo

Worried that a photo for an online listing still has your device model and the date it was taken? Removing the metadata keeps the photo quality intact while clearing that out.

Clearing editing traces from a work image

Images saved from editing software can carry software names or comments in their metadata. Strip it before distributing the file to keep things clean.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Metadata analysis and removal happen entirely in your browser, and the image is never sent to a server.

Does this reduce image quality?

No. The image isn't redrawn or recompressed — the tool precisely locates and removes only the metadata-carrying parts of the file. The pixel data is identical to the original.

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, and WebP. It finds and removes EXIF (shooting info), XMP, IPTC/Photoshop data, and text/time/resolution metadata.

Is GPS location data definitely removed?

Yes. GPS data lives inside the EXIF block, and the entire EXIF segment/chunk is removed, so the location goes with it. If 'Location (GPS)' shows up in the found list, it won't be in the cleaned file.
