Frequently asked questions

Is the data I enter sent to a server?

No. All conversion happens entirely in your browser, and what you enter is never sent to a server.

Should I use tab-separated or comma-separated data?

Both are supported and the delimiter is detected automatically. Data copied from Excel or Sheets is usually tab-separated, while CSV files are comma-separated.

What happens if a cell contains a pipe (|) character?

It's automatically escaped (\|) in the output so it doesn't break the table syntax.

Can I set column alignment (left/center/right)?

All columns are currently generated as left-aligned by default. If you need specific alignment, edit the generated separator (---) line directly to :---, :---:, or ---:.
