Duplicate Line Remover
Remove duplicate lines from a list and sort it alphabetically.
Usage examples
Cleaning up an email list collected from multiple rounds
When a list of email addresses gathered from several sources has the same address more than once, clean it up into a duplicate-free list in one pass.
Merging two to-do lists into one
Paste two lists together and run deduplication to combine them into a single list with no overlapping items.
Sorting a list of keywords alphabetically
Take a keyword or tag list collected in no particular order and get it both deduplicated and sorted alphabetically for an easy overview.
Frequently asked questions
Is the list I enter sent to a server?
No. Processing happens entirely in your browser, and what you enter is never sent to a server.
What does the case-sensitive option change?
Off, "Apple" and "apple" are treated as the same line and only one survives. On, two lines differing only in case are treated as distinct and both are kept.
Why does the line order change?
With sort set to "Keep original order", lines stay in the order they first appeared. Choosing ascending or descending re-sorts them alphabetically instead.
Why would I need to trim whitespace?
A pasted list can have invisible leading or trailing spaces on some lines, making lines that look identical actually count as different. Turning this on ignores that difference for an accurate comparison.
