Picking up where you left off

What you're writing is saved automatically in your browser, so you can close the page and come back to continue later.

Frequently asked questions

Is what I write saved on a server?

No. All writing and preview rendering happens entirely in your browser. So you can pick up where you left off, your content is saved only in your browser's local storage (localStorage) — it's never sent to a server or shared across devices.

Is there any Markdown syntax that isn't supported?

Headings, bold/italic/strikethrough, lists, blockquotes, code (inline and blocks), links, images, and tables (GFM extension) — all the commonly used syntax is supported. If you mix in raw HTML tags, they're shown as plain text rather than executed, for safety.

Can I use what I write somewhere else?

Yes. Click "Copy" at the top to copy everything you've written to the clipboard. Or click "Export as README.md" to download it as a file you can upload straight to a GitHub repository or anywhere else.
