Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All analysis happens entirely in your browser, and the image is never sent to a server.

What happens when I click "View on map"?

It opens a new tab showing that location on Google Maps. It's just a link to an external site, and it only opens when you click it yourself.

Nothing shows up.

Screenshots, re-saved images, and photos forwarded through messaging apps usually already have their EXIF data stripped. Original files copied straight from a camera tend to retain the most information.

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, and WebP.
