DXF to SVG

Convert a DXF drawing into a scalable SVG file.

Drag and drop a DXF file, or click to choose one

Only DXF files are supported (DWG is not supported)

Usage examples

Turning a CAD drawing into a web-ready vector

Convert a DXF export from your CAD software into an SVG you can drop straight into a website or design tool.

Keeping a drawing crisp at any size

SVG is vector data, so the converted drawing stays sharp whether it's shown as a thumbnail or blown up to fill a poster.

Editing a CAD drawing in a vector graphics editor

Convert to SVG so you can open and tweak the drawing in tools like Illustrator, Inkscape, or Figma.

Frequently asked questions

Can this convert DWG files too?

No. DWG isn't an openly published format, and there's no safely licensable parser for it that can run client-side, so only DXF is supported. Export your file as DXF from your CAD software ("Save As") first.

Is my uploaded file sent to a server?

No. Reading the DXF and building the SVG all happen entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

Which DXF elements are supported?

Lines, circles, arcs, ellipses, polylines (including curved segments), splines, points, and text/mtext labels are converted. Block references (INSERT), hatches, and dimension lines aren't supported yet and are left out of the result — check the preview before downloading to confirm the main lines and shapes look right.

How is this different from the DXF to Image tool?

DXF to Image also supports PNG and JPG output alongside SVG, plus a resolution choice for raster formats. This tool is a quicker, single-purpose option purely for an SVG export — use whichever is more convenient.
