Usage examples
Uploading a large file somewhere with a size limit
When you need to send a large file through a messaging app or email with an upload limit, split it into pieces under that limit and send them separately.
Rebuilding the original file from received parts
Select all the part files you received at once, and they're automatically sorted into the right order and joined back into the original file.
Splitting into an exact number of equal pieces
Specify a number of parts instead of a size to divide the file into roughly equal chunks.
Frequently asked questions
Are my uploaded files sent to a server?
No. Both splitting and joining happen entirely in your browser, and the files are never sent to a server.
What format do the split parts come in?
All the parts are bundled into a single ZIP file. Once extracted, you'll see numbered pieces like "filename.part001".
Do I need to put the parts in order myself before joining?
No. The numbers embedded in the filenames are used to sort the parts into the correct order automatically before joining.
What happens if I lose one of the split parts?
If even one part is missing, the original file can't be fully reconstructed. Keep every part until you're done joining them back together.
