Frequently asked questions

Can this open DWG files too?

No. DWG isn't an openly published format, and there's no safely licensable parser for it that can run client-side, so only DXF is supported. Export your file as DXF from your CAD software ("Save As") first.

Is my uploaded file sent to a server?

No. Reading the file and rendering it all happen entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

Are all drawing elements shown?

Commonly used elements — lines, circles, arcs, polylines, ellipses, and text — are rendered. Some elements like block references (INSERT), hatches, and dimension lines aren't supported yet, and if present, you'll see a note listing them below the drawing.

The colors look different from the original.

Lines originally colored pure white are redrawn in black so they're visible on this viewer's white background. Every other color is shown as-is.
