Frequently asked questions

Is my coordinate data sent to a server?

No. All conversion happens entirely in your browser, and what you enter is never sent to a server.

Can I convert multiple coordinates at once?

Yes. Enter one coordinate per line in the input box and every line is converted at once.

What exactly is the DMS input format?

Enter latitude and longitude separated by a space, each as "degrees°minutes'seconds"hemisphere". For example: 37°33'59.4"N 126°58'40.8"E. Hemispheres are written as N/S/E/W.

How many decimal places does the result use?

Decimal degree (DD) results are shown to 6 decimal places, and the seconds portion of DMS results is shown to 1 decimal place.
