Frequently asked questions

Is my uploaded image sent to a server?

No. All processing happens in your browser, and the image is never sent to a server.

Why can't I type a height value after picking an aspect ratio?

When an aspect ratio is locked, the height is automatically calculated whenever you change the width, so the height field is disabled. Pick "Free" to control height directly.

What happens if the crop area goes outside the image?

The X, Y, width, and height values are automatically kept within the bounds of the original image.

Should I choose PNG or JPG?

Choose PNG if you need a transparent background, or JPG if you want a smaller file size.
